Màcchina -s. f. [dal lat. machĭna]. – 1. Any device built by connecting two or more elements so that the relative motion of these transmit or amplify humananimal/natual force, and capable of performing predetermined operations with saving of effort or time. - 2. In physics and technique, a device capable of transformiing energy into work, work into energy or work into work; a device made up of connected organs so that applied forces(driving forces) perform work for a given purpose, overcoming other forces (resistant force).
